Edward Duncan Ernest "Edd" Gould (born 28 October 1988, died 25 March 2012, aged 23) known on YouTube as Eddsworld, was a British flash animator. While he did not exclusively upload videos to YouTube, he did have a channel and uploaded his films there. These films often featured himself and three friends, Tom Ridgewell and Matt Hargreaves and Tord Larson (who left the series in 2008) in bizarre adventures. These feature zombies, Santa, mythical creatures and generally anything relevant to the setting (though often something from out of the blue with no relevance will pop up). He passed away on March 25, 2012 from a long battle against Leukemia. Two days later, Tom, Matt, and others announced Edd's death, later adding that the Eddsworld series would be continued, with all profits going to charity.

Videos

Edd's videos feature extensive humour and surrealism. For example, in one episode Edd and his friends are cloned via DNA left on their seats by an evil director who wants more film views.

Edd started using Flash in late 2002, but did not start making videos like he does now until late 2004. In 2008, the casting suffered a loss. Tord left the crew, leaving Edd, Matt and Tom the main characters of the series. When asked by a fan why Tord had left, Edd responded "Dunno, he just didn't wish to be in them anymore". Some notable films include: Zombeh Attack trilogy, The Dudette Next Door, Zanta Claws, Tom's Tales of Awesome, Spares, 25 ft under the seat, MovieMakers, and Climate Change.

Edd Gould Vs Cancer

On April 16, 2011, Edd revealed he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cells. This was the second time he was diagnosed with this illness. He posted a video titled "Edd vs Cancer" which featured himself, Tom and Matt discussing the diagnosis.

On March 25, 2012, Edd died from Leukemia. Two days later Tom, Matt and many of Edd's other friends announced his death. Tom, in the announcement video "RIP Edd Gould (1988-2012)", stated that "Edd may be gone, but his world will keep on spinning"
