Marble Hornets, abbreviated as MH, is an American YouTube web series created by Troy Wagner (born: May 17, 1988 (1988-05-17) [age 35]), who also stars in the series alongside co-creator Joseph DeLage (born: May 21, 1988 (1988-05-21) [age 35]). The ARG follows the events of a guy named Jay Merrick (played by Wagner) as he shows the audience old video footage back from the summer of 2006, attempting to find out what happened during the filming of "Marble Hornets", an unfinished student film by his friend, Alex Kralie (played by DeLage).

Inspired by the Slender Man online mythos, the first video was posted on YouTube on June 20, 2009, following a post that Wagner created on the Something Awful forum the previous day.

The series now has up to three collective seasons and 92 videos on the main channel (87 entries) to date, which are avaliable as digital downloads along with DVDs from their official website, as well as 39 accompanying videos from a side-channel, "totheark".

Additionally in 2015, a film spinoff titled "Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story" was released.

On December 27, 2017, Wagner posted a new photo to his Twitter page, teasing a comic related to Marble Hornets slated for a 2018 release.

Clear Lakes 44[]

On August 3, 2015, a follow-up series titled ClearLakes44 was uploaded onto the Marble Hornets channel, though this series was cancelled as of April 2016 after the members of the creative team went their separate ways.

ECKVA[]

On October 16, 2016, a successor to Clear Lakes 44, titled ECKVA, was launched.

Story[]

Season One (June 20, 2009 - April 18, 2010)[]

In the Introduction video, it describes that there once was a college student named Alex Kralie who was working on a film named "MarbleHornets" with his friends before production abruptly ended three years ago for an unknown reason. Alex gave his tapes of raw footage from the film to his friend Jay, and told him to burn them and never talk to him about them again. Alex later got transferred to a new school, and Jay completely forgot about the tapes until he finds them in his closet. He starts to go through them and posts anything interesting he finds on the tapes as "Entries" on YouTube. After watching the tapes, Jay begins to search for Alex, and gets caught up in the conflict. Jay, like Alex, records himself at all times and has a mysterious entity known as "The Operator" stalking him. An unknown person known as "totheark" begins leaving disturbing video responses to Jay's videos and it is unknown whether or not he is trying to help. After 26 entries, Jay decides to quit but shortly after he recieves a package containing a tape of Alex and his girlfriend, Amy. Amy begins recording which makes the Operator appear.
