Luis Alfonso Rodríguez López-Cepero (born: April 15, 1978 (1978-04-15) [age 46]), better known by his stage name Luis Fonsi, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and actor. He is most known for his worldwide hit song 'Despacito'. Because of this song and music video, Luis Fonsi became one the fastest growing YouTube channels of all time and is currently the 81st most subscribed and 63rd most viewed YouTube channel of all time.

Despacito[]

On January 12, 2017, VEVO released and uploaded Luis Fonsi's song and music video for 'Despacito' featuring rapper and singer Daddy Yankee. The official music video is now the most liked and held the status of the most viewed YouTube video for 3 years, with over 41 million likes and over 7 billion views, until it was beaten by Pinkfong's Baby Shark. Canadian singer Justin Bieber was featured in an English remix, which only boosted the song's success, making it one of the most popular songs in the world.

Due to the song and music video, Luis Fonsi's career success has skyrocketed.

Hacking[]

On April 10, 2018, a hacker got onto Luis Fonsi's VEVO channel and deleted 'Despacito'. The next day, YouTube permanently restored the video. It is the 8th "most viewed YouTube video" to be deleted and the first to be deleted temporarily.
