Finney is the deuteragonist of the Skippy Shorts franchise. His best friend is Skippy (who doesn't return the sentiment) and is a white, furry creature with a lisp. Finney hosts his own show called Ask Finney, much like Ask Skippy.
Finney is a tall, thin Wynn Miller's Mopkins puppet covered in white fuzz. He has two blue eyes and a small black nose. He has prominent eyebrows and a moustache, both of which are grey (just like his hands and feet). The inside of his mouth is red and his tongue is visible and pink. He has very long arms that he usually flails around a lot and which is controlled by a wire, just like Skippy's arms.
PersonalityEditFinney is very innocent, friendly, and quite dumb and he always looks on the bright side, unlike Skippy's more cynical outlook. He assumes Skippy likes him in return when Skippy really finds him immensely irritating and stupid. Skippy does occasionally show mutual tolerance for Finney and in some cases, even friendship; Skippy himself claimed in "Ask Skippy #11 - Sugar High" that they have weekly sugar parties each Friday, meaning that he musn't completely hate Finney, but he certainly gets fed up with his happy nonsense.
Finney is clearly hyperactive and he talks in a very fast-paced manner like Skippy. He hosts another segment (besides Ask Finney) called Finney's Rambles, in which he spins a nonsense story going off on one tangent after the other, which highlights his lighthearted and energetic personality. This fast-paced manner may be because of his sugar parties with Skippy, in which they eat lots of sugar.
- There's some debate as to what Finney actually is. In "Ask Finney #1 - Old Man Polar Bear," a user called bob bob asks if he's an old man crossed with a polar bear, which he denies and he sees what that would look like, with help from the Wizard. Others have suggested that Finney's a white spider monkey or a monster, but there's no confirmation from NearFar Productions as to what species Finney is. It is currently left up to interpretation.
- Occasionally, Finney is performed by Greg Harrisberg. At the end of "A Skippy Update," Finney shouted, "STUPID!" in Skippy's voice. Finney notices this and he says in a scared tone he doesn't know where that voice came from since it wasn't him.
