I guess that you mean that, because you’re undoing my edits.
I thought that I was improving to the templates. “Other Media” shouldn’t be capitalized, a way to change the appearance of the username was needed, not having to use manual links with the “Facebook” and “Twitter” parameters makes it a lot easier to use, not having to use file links with the “most viewed video” and “channel trailer” parameters makes it a lot easier to use, “video” is better being called “channel trailer”—as it makes it more clear—“most viewed video” shouldn’t be capitalized, a “description” parameter is useful, etc.
I don’t see what harm I did. I didn’t make immensely major changes, and I did use AutoWikiBrowser to change all the pages to correspond with the template changes.
Could you please state why you disagree with my updates to the templates? I apologize for not requesting approval from you, but I don’t see how my changes are harmful instead of good.
Which mistakes are you talking about? I patrolled my edits and fixed every edit I came across. It took some heavy RegEx editing, but I still fixed the mistakes. When mistakes occured, I stopped the bot.
I never intended for there to be any mistakes, but do you not agree that the YouTuber and YouTuber1 templates were improved? There’s no need to provide the links of the Twitter and Facebook pages when it can be done automatically. “Other Uses” and “Most Viewed Video” shouldn’t be capitalized, etc.
I changed everything to correspond with the updates with the bot and fixed mistakes, too.
Oh, you’re right. My bad. You did more than undo my video and label changes, though.
Addressing your undos:
You removed the “@” before the Facebook username. Why did you do that? Facebook uses “@” before usernames, just like Twitter does.
You changed “Other media” back to “Other Media” and “Date joined” back to “Date Joined.” Why should they be capitalized?
You change “vids” back to “videos.” Why should “vids” be used instead of the full word, “videos”? The bot which I was running can and was in the process of changing all the instances of “vids” to “videos.”
You removed the “description” parameter. It’s used to add the description which is on the “About” page of YouTubers. I thought that it was useful, so why did you remove it completely?
You removed the file links in the “most viewed video” and “channel trailer” parameters. Why? The file links should always be there, and the “thumb” parameter should always be used, so why can’t just the name of the file be used instead of the unnecessary parts beside it, which are consisent in all articles? Again, the bot which I was running was in the process of changing this.
You changed the Facebook username’s appearance to the page name. I think that it shouldn’t be like that, since YouTubers’ Facebook usernames aren’t always exactly the same as their YouTuber username or real name (page name).
You also removed the “title,” “username appearance,” “Facebook1,” and “Facebook name” parameters from the syntax example. These parameters are still used in the templates, so why did you remove them from the syntax example?
Username appearance changes the appearance of the username if needed. Facebook1 is used when the Facebook link is not a direct link but rather a link with “/page/randomnumbers.”
The majority of editors use VisualEditor, and the extra fields might be confusing to new users.
Also, bullets should not be used in an infobox. Generally, you would just insert a break. This convention is used on many wikis, notably Wikipedia.
So you’re removing useful parameters which several articles use just because new players might find it confusing? New users will find everything which has something to do with things other than plain text confusing, won’t they? I certainly did when I was born on Wikia.
Also, I prefer the bullets; I think it looks much better. Oh well, sorry for adding them. (It doesn’t harm if this wiki is different to other wikis, by the way.)
PapiDimmi. I see you are making edits to like all the pages in alphabetical order. I don't know what kind of edits you are making, but, you are just.... You're just making edits to all pages in 2 seconds! WHAT IS GOING ON????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m running a bot to make minor changes to the YouTuber and YouTuber1 templates to correspond with its recent changes. Otherwise, those templates would be broken on most of the articles which have not been changed.
I know, but thanks. I can just use <br>, by the way.
By the way, I implemented a way to change the title in the YouTuber template (by using the “title” parameter). I thought it’d be beneficial on pages with multiple channels by the same YouTuber, such as Roman Atwood. Are you okay with that?
im not annoyed by it. im happy that that someone is editing, but i think that if we are going to be having regualr automatic edits to help remove unwanted and unneeded stuff it shouldnt have to take up the feed.
