Alex Richard George Day (Born April 8, 1989) also known as nerimon on YouTube, is a YouTube Celebrity, vlogger, musician and writer from Essex, England. He is the founder of the music movement of "Trock" - short for "Time Lord Rock", a style based around the sci-fi world of Doctor Who. Alex, Charlie McDonnell, Liam Dryden, and Chris Beattie formed the band Chameleon Circuit, releasing their first self-titled album on June 1, 2009.
Alex is a successful YouTuber, with over 900,000 subscribers, and over twelve million views. He is mostly known for his frequent strong language, abrasive attitude, intense hatred of current-day video games and obsession with sexual themes and innuendo; the majority of his videos are therefore aimed at mature viewers in comparison to fellow flatmate YouTuber Charlie McDonnell's family-friendly, lighthearted ones. Although he has many fans who enjoy his crude humour and ranting abilities, some of his videos have faced negative reaction.
Notes
He is the subject of the song "Mrs. Nerimon", written and performed by Kristina Horner (aka "italktosnakes"), who was his girlfriend at the time. The song was also parodied by Bill (Dr, Noise) Martin and called "Mr. Nerimon", and covered live by Charlie McDonnell on a BlogTV show with the same title.
Alex's favourite penned lyrics are - "I could bake a chocolate cake for you with tiers up to the moon" - "Holding On"; "If you ever need me, I'm only a vodka away from you" - "No More"; and "everything" from "Don't Look Back"
Alex announced on February 14, 2014 that he had been dating fellow YouTuber Carrie Hope Fletcher since October 2013. However, Carrie announced their break-up via Twitter on March 14, 2014.
In March 2014, Alex was among the YouTubers anonymously accused of bad behaviour towards woman. Alex admitted to having previously engaged in "manipulative relationships" with some women, saying "the model of consent that I followed... was that only, 'no' meant, 'no'. That is not what consent is". This led to Alex's former best friend and flatmate Charlie McDonnell stating "I just don't feel able to call Alex a friend of mine any more."
Following the release of the news, Alex posted on his official blog, announcing that he has taken down his merchandise and artist pages from his label's website. He has since been active on public social media; after taking brief break.
