Ashley started making YouTube videos to curb boredom during the summer before her senior year of high school. This experimental phase marks the beginning of her experiences with video editing and film production. Ashley continued rapidly producing videos and became known as the "Dorky College Girl" while attending Northeastern University, where she majored in biology for one semester but dropped out citing financial reasons. She continued to make videos on a less-frequent basis at Bridgewater State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Media and Technology in 2014.
Despite periodic hiatuses that paused her channel's growth, Ashley has made it clear that she intends to make a comeback on YouTube by making use of her knowledge and love for the Internet. The success of her short comedies and radio shows during college inspired her to continue pursuing entertainment while also pursuing a conventional career. Although she updates her channel's videos sporadically, she is extremely active on social media.
- She has two dogs, a Miniature Pinscher named Honey and a Miniature Australian Shepherd named Snoopy.
- Ashley wanted to be a wild animal husbandrist, but decided against the career after hearing negative comments about the career from mentors. The Communication major "clicked" for her after attending a closed seminar at Northeastern University featuring film producers.
- She was born in Massachusetts and briefly lived in Boston.
- In an effort to create a comfortable space for people to talk about cold urticaria and Raynaud's Syndrome, which she suffers from, Ashley has created more than one video addressing these medical issues.
