Basic infoEdit

Petey1Piranha, also known as Nathan Franks, is a let's player from Texas. Prior to May 2011, he was best known for his crush on actress/singer Jennette McCurdy, who he talked to frequently on the site, and also made videos for her along with his let's plays, though he no longer does this. He is 20 years old and is recognized by his frequent non-sequitur commentary, his deep, stereotypical "stoner" voice, and usually being unavailable for Skype calls, claiming to be 'busy'.. His favorite games are BioShock, Pokemon, Gears of War, Mega Man, and several others. He no longer makes videos for YouTube due to the March 7th, 2012 updates forcing the new channel design.

YouTube HistoryEdit

Nate started out in 2006 with an account called "d00pliss", but since he was age 14 at the time, and very immature, he mostly trolled on videos, an act now regretted. He closed that account sometime in 2008, and attempted to make new accounts twice, those being "AvoidSpiltJuice", and "Elitebounc3r", both of which are still viewable, though he forgot the password to those.

Though he had always been interested in let's plays since 2008, his original reason for wanting to join YouTube once again was to make RuneScape videos, because he played that game, though what few he did end up making were subpar quality, and as such, were deleted.

He decided to give YouTube another chance in February 2009, convinced to do so by his friend and semi-popular Let's Player, crocodi1e. Being the self-proclaimed "master of originality and uniqueness", he hated having numbers at the end of his names, so he took his RuneScape name, Peteypirana1, and put the "1" in the middle, thus resulting in his current name. It was also picked(on RuneScape)because Petey Piranha was his favorite Mario character.

He made friends with many YouTubers, such as Chickenfajita12, Battlexon, and other let's players and users. He would regularly go to Streams before they were removed, and mainly talked with ILoveDogMeat, BIGTHECAT69, ebya211, and the people mentioned above in 2009, as well as several others who added him when he first joined.

He had gotten back into the Pokemon games around this time, when Platinum was new, so he frequently found people to battle online through YouTube.

He started making videos at a steady rate during February of 2010, when he bought a mic for his computer. He began let's plays as well as other random videos talking about different subjects, or just non-sequitur videos.

Though he never got hugely popular, he decided he would leave YouTube on March 7th, 2012, when the site forced it's latest channel design due to his extreme disdain for it.

Interest in Let's PlayingEdit

Inspired by Cauchemar89, Chickenfajita12, battlexon, and other let's players/friends, he had always wanted to do let's plays, but had limited knowledge of video making. It was not until February 2010, when he acquired Camtasia Studio, and a PC mic, bought for him by his mother, that he started his own let's play of Pokemon Ruby Version. It wasn't great quality due to it being his first, but improved as it went along. He also did a short LP of the newest RuneScape tutorial with famed British Brony, Kitedj123. He then began a Sneasel Only Run of Pokemon Crystal, which is currently on hiatus after only three episodes due to soulreaper393 being banned from YouTube.

On March 15, 2010, less than a month after beginning his Ruby let's play, his computer broke, deleting not only his video files, but his Ruby save file, forcing him to start a new file. In November of 2010, he resumed the Let's Play, with far better quality due to him buying a new computer which ran faster. He does co-op Let's Plays with BIGTHECAT69, Usernameclassifeid, MrMarioman223, and Chickenfajita12.

In April 2011, he had even more computer troubles, such as his monitor and mouse crapping out on him. During his time away, some changes were made. As of May 2011, he no longer loves (or has any connection to) Jennette McCurdy, and has since removed all information about her on his channel(s) and deleted most of the videos. His current crush is the not-so-famous but nine-thousand-and-one-times-more-awesome fellow let's player, Lydia Winters(MinecraftChick).

All of his subsequent let's plays will be exclusively on ZippCast.

The End of Petey1Piranha(and New Beginning of SmoothYamcha)Edit

Generally speaking, Petey was always very rigid and couldn't stand updates, following the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" motto through and through. He had already expressed disdain for almost every update YouTube had enacted since he joined, such as the first channel update in September of 2009, and the removal of his favorite features.

At the end of 2011, YouTube once again updated their homepage and was showcasing an(at the time, optional)new channel design, coined "Cosmic Panda". Petey sent a message to YouTube saying he would indeed leave if this was forced, which it inevitably was. He posted one final farewell video thanking everyone he knew, and has decided to no longer make videos for the site.

Though his account will not be closed, he has moved to a site called ZippCast, which has channels emulating the original YouTube design.
