Pin Gas and Bob is a webseries created by squadallahthistle using GoAnimate. It focuses on the adventures of two guys named Pin Gas and Bob, who are somewhat stupid, badly animated, and (from episodes 1-4) sound like weird robots.
The series came about when squadallahthistle found out about GoAnimate, and wanted to make his own video using it. The result was the first episode of Pin Gas and Bob, released on May 29, 2011. However, after releasing the episode, squadallahthistle found out that since GoAnimate only allows you to write a script, and not actually animate, it was poorly animated, and the characters sounded dull and somewhat robotic (this is
actually pointed out in the first episode, where Pin Gas says he sounds like Microsoft Sam). The second episode, released the following day, had no references to animation, voices, or GoAnimate, because squadallahthistle believed that with a plot involving shooting and cops, people wouldn't care. However, the episode still sounded dull. After that, squadallahthistle wasn't sure how Pin Gas and Bob could be improved upon. After a long break from it however, he turned the series in a different direction with the release of the third
episode, on July 3, 2011. The entire episode points out how dumb Pin Gas and Bob seem (in both animation and personality) and the plot involves squadallahthistle sending them on a subway so he could give them some money and boost their careers (in reality, he told them to stick their heads out a window, and then someone would come by and shove them out, killing them). This was intended to be the final episode. However, squadallahthistle soon realized that there was more he could do with them. He brought them back in the fourth
episode, released on August 14, 2011 (using the "cartoon characters never die" philosophy as an explanation as to why they weren't killed in the previous episode), where they take jabs at GoAnimate and plan to kill squadallahthistle. He planned to make a saga out of the plan to kill storyline, but GoAnimate changed soon afterward so that there were only two free background to use, and the characters were redesigned to have different eyes. Eventually, however, squadallahthistle took this to his advantage and made a
fifth episode, released on November 7, 2011, claiming that their new eyes seemed to improve them. He also hooked up a microphone to his computer, and ditched the electronic sounding voices for Pin Gas and Bob, performing the voices himself. On January 8, 2012, two new episodes of Pin Gas and Bob were released. The first one to be released that day involved Pin Gas and Bob, upset that their videos haven't gotten a lot of views, and since they can't kill themselves, they plan to torture them selves instead by watching the Ratatouille ripoff Ratatoing. Also, Bob's electronic voice makes a brief reappearance in this episode, speaking one line when Bob (voiced by squadallahthistle) talks about how squadallahthistle is trying to make the characters sound less robotic. Bob then switches to his electronic voice, saying "But is he succeeding?" to which the squadallahthistle voiced Bob replies "Shut up, you!" The other episode released that day expanded upon Bob's split personality, revealing that the electronic side of Bob wants to kill the squadallahthistle voiced Bob, but it's almost impossible to do due to the fact that the two are actually the same person. He ends the episode by saying that he'll do it... somehow. Squadallahthistle has said that this will become a major plot element in future episodes. However, nothing ever really came of it. After gaining a bit of popularity through his fandubs, squadallahthistle released the eighth episode of Pin Gas and Bob on March 25, 2012. The episode has Pin Gas and Bob complaining that their series hasn't got much attention, since it is now overshadowed by squadallahthistle's fandubs. In the video, Bob does a "mock interpretation" of squadallahthistle using his (squadallahthistle's) natural voice. Pin Gas also does a mock interpretation of squadallahthistle doing Duke Onkled, which previously, one commenter said was "brilliant." The joke, of course, was that both Pin Gas and Bob are already voiced by squadallahthistle, and making fun of the person they are voiced by. The ninth episode, released May 30, 2012, during a brief time when squadallahthistle couldn't do fandubs due to software troubles, had the two trying to challenge him for his job by doing a series of voices.
By late 2012, squadallahthistle's subscribers had reached an all time high through his fandubs (mostly the Gravity Falls ones) He decided that he would end the series to focus more on them. The tenth and final episode, released on December 12, 2012, had the two discussing on how this was their last episode and how squadallahthistle will kill them. It is also in this episode that Bob finally gets over Pin Gas "offending copyright laws." It was confirmed in a comment that squadallahthistle did indeed kill Bob after the episode, but Pin Gas had escaped to work for Wiseau Films. Although the series ended, squadallahthistle announced that he may make more videos that have Pin Gas working at Wiseau Films.
Most episodes of Pin Gas and Bob take place in a random location in a city. Pin Gas and Bob talk about something, (mostly how bad GoAnimate is) and none of the episodes have much of a plot. Sometimes, Pin Gas will mention a product or brand, and Bob will get mad at him because he's "offending copyright laws," a reference to how Youtube is crazy about removing videos with copyrighted content in them. Pin Gas never cares that he's doing so. Bob mostly finds ways around it (for example, in the first episode, he called Microsoft Sam "Microshot Sam"), but in one episode, he mentions Out Of Jimmy's Head (a failed live action/animated show that used to be on Cartoon Network) out of frustration, and Pin Gas points out that now he's the one doing it, but doesn't care. A minor storyline has involved Bob's conflicts with his split personality.
