It wouldn't be nothing at all! It would be something of-of, actual, somethin'.

―Skitscape

Anthony J. Catalfamo (born: May 25, 1993 (1993-05-25) [age 30]), better known online as SkitScape, is an American gaming YouTuber and commentator.

He is most known for his numerous comedic and popular gaming videos that predominantly feature himself and his friend, Dan (also known as Fawdz). AntVenom and CavemanFilms could also be found as occasional guests of the channel. The most prominent video game they played was Minecraft, though other various games were also common, such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Sumotori Dreams. Moreover were the very well-received Whiteboard Wednesdays. These were videos in which SkitScape and Fawdz humorously interpreted and drew a character or public figure of choice on a whiteboard.

Career[]

He originally started his online presence by creating RuneScape skits, which is how he adopted the name "SkitScape". He met Dan while searching for actors for a new skit, but they continued to have a strong friendship even after production. In 2011, Tony switched the direction of his channel towards Minecraft.

During the ensuing time on the channel, he and his friend created many beloved and entertaining videos, saturated with their many inside jokes and unique humor.

After moving on from YouTube, he has become an IT Networking Specialist. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer engineering at the University of New Mexico and is a graduate of The MASTERS Program in Santa Fe.

There are still rare appearances by him on Fawdz's Twitch as Dan and Tony remain good friends.

History[]

In 2013, he moved to a townhouse in Schaumburg, Illinois to become roommates with Fawdz. This did not last very long though, as in 2014 he stopped wanting to make Minecraft videos and video gaming content in general. An unfortunate contingent of Skitscape's "fans" sought to rudely complain to LoobyPls, his at-the-time girlfriend, on why Tony was not making content.[1]

After moving back to New Mexico in 2014, he uploaded an update video. He announced that he had the intention to return to his channel sometime soon due to developing "a work ethic". During this time, Fawdz was taking his own break at college and was not available to return to his co-hosting position.[2] As such, SkitScape continued regardless, making videos with AntVenom and Logdotzip while livestreaming and facilitating the return of his Minecraft server.

Following a year of making this content, he once again became disinterested in uploading videos and developed a dispassion for Minecraft. On November 11, 2015, Tony posted this tweet:

Yeah i just don't wanna anymore guys. Not as skitscape at least. There will always be the "wheres dan" kid.
Maybe youll see me under a different name some day.

―Skitscape, Twitter

One year later, SkitScape removed all of the content from his channel. The only things remaining were a playlist of "liked videos", the YouTube icon, and the banner. It is thought that he did this to create a more professional image for potential employers. Two years after this, he uploaded a video of himself snowboarding in Santa Fe, revealing that he had been teaching the sport during the last 3 years.[3]

In late 2018 there was a flow of reuploads and unprivating, as well as an official return. Tony was regularly uploading new content with a show entitled "Your Show". He introduced and co-hosted it with his girlfriend, Canada. This variety show had interesting discussion questions, a dress-up, and explicitly non-political news to keep the peace among the fans. He shared that he and his dad started a coffee business, Mohawk Coffee Co. in upstate New York. This show lasted until February 2019 when it stopped being produced.

At this point, Skitscape focused more on livestraming on Twitch rather than uploading to YouTube. There he played games such as The Binding of Isaac and made multiple appearances on SMPLive. He even got a group of players to go "Shroom Seeking" with him (trying to find Minecraft's rare Mushroom Biome).

For unknown reasons, though presumably after being involved in a tough breakup with his now ex-girlfriend, Tony declared himself "canceled" and ceased any high profile content creation. Tony's tweet on October 14, 2019:

Guys I'm really sorry, but I've gotta go away again. Its probably for the long haul this time.

―Skitscape, Twitter

As of 2021, it seems unlikely that he will return to YouTube or Twitch anytime soon, or at least come back in the same way he once did.
