Talking Asparegus is the second YouTube account of Avery Merritt after his account Love to Fiddle on November 25, 2007.

Biography

Avery debuted onto YouTube with his channel Love to Fiddle on November 25, 2007. Love to Fiddle only released one video; Jeruselem Ridge on November 26, 2007, the day after he joined YouTube. Avery created his second account because he felt that the name Love to Fiddle was not the type of name for the style of videos that he mostly wanted to make, this led to his account Talking Asparegus. He originally intended for his account to be "Talking Asparagus", however a typo interfered. Avery's friends, Jared and Josh, pronounced the name as "Talking Ah - spar - ay - gus" and Avery said he liked the name better that way. Talking Asparegus was launched on December 26, 2008. Before he made any videos, Avery favorited the video Schwarzenegger's worst acting which was uploaded on May 27, 2007 by Nickname Here. The first video uploaded onto the account was Beck mixup on December 27, 2008. Avery later did the camera work for The Phattest Crib This Hood Has, which he purpously made bad. The video was uploaded onto his friend Josh's channel, Admiral Tobias on December 28, 2008. Avery dropped his second video; My Dreams on February 26, 2009. When experimenting on Picasa at Josh's house, Avery pressed a random button which caused the computer to save a video which became of Meet the Robinsons, which was uploaded onto Admiral Tobias' account on April 3, 2009. Avery went to sleep over at his friend Jared's house, there, he uploaded two more of his videos; Helychopar and the overly long titled YouTube Poop observing the magnificent band the Trashmen and the wonderful song Surfin' Bird. Avery later put on the "super seekrit" (early Beta channel) page format onto his page, but reverted due to certain technical difficulties. He switched back on May 27, 2009 on account of that difficulty being fixed. Him, Jared and his brother Josh were all sitting at their computers, Avery also did the video work for History Lesson by Admiral Tobias. All three videos were uploaded that night on April 14, 2009. Avery later started making a song on GarageBand and the unfinished version was uploaded onto the video My Song UNFINISHED on May 9, 2009. He is currently working to make the full GarageBand song. Jared (a friend of his) went to a sleep over at Avery's house. They both planned to make a YouTube video at night, however his camera was stocked with another video which he needed to upload: Trippy crap. He uploaded the video Trippy crap with the song "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" in the background, thus being muted by the Universal Music Group. He entirely removed the video and uploaded a new version with another song he made GarageBand. The video was kept, and now has a slightly different title: Trippy Crap. Later that day Avery also uploaded It's Fat Albert!!!. That afternoon they both started making My Dreams 2 (unconfirmed title), which Jared had to leave in the middle of. Avery later reformatted his page with the Beta channel again. Avery uploaded his full GarageBand song, uploaded the video My Song- Untitled, and erased My Song UNFINISHED on May 29, 2009.

Talking Asparegus' videos usually take place in his house, and occasionally in his friends, Jared and Josh's house. Josh goes by the name Admiral Tobias on YouTube. Talking Asparegus has done the video work in two of Admiral's films as well: The Phattest Crib This Hood Has and History Lesson. Most of his videos are done off the webcam on his computer. Asparegus puts slide shows or humorous pictures into his videos on occasion. He currently has eight videos:

Playlists

Talking Asparegus has only made one playlist ever since he had an a account. The one being, Slap Bass licks which features all the "Slap Bass Licks" lessons by Paul Purtle under his account Paupur, except for the last lick, which was not made at the time. Avery himslef stated that, "He must have made a new one". Avery has not updated the playlist since.

Profile

Talking Asparegus essentially has a joke profile on YouTube. Although most of his profile is made up of jokes, some of the fields of his profile contain normal information.

Avatars

In his profile he has, like many users, gone through a series of different avatars. Some taken as stills from his video and other taken directly on his computer. Note: Many previous avatars were not recorded.

Profile description

Heading

Talking Asparegus' profile description contains YouTube ads and breif introductions with very little information. Note: Red boxes indicate text that has been taken off his page.

The heading of his profile formerly said:

Hey youtube, its me *****. filling **** with random useless **** i will **** *** **. Subscribing makes the *** go faster....

ok, maybe not the *** but this *** bar for sure :)

The asterisks were formerly words which used to say:

Hey youtube, its me Avery. filling YouTube with random useless crap then i will dominate the world. Subscribing makes the domination go faster....

ok, maybe not the world but this chocolate bar for sure :)

It should be noted that the amount of asterisks used are not accurate to the amount of letters in each of the words. The heading of his profile was replaced when he moved his page to the Beta format:

That's about it... Chow!

The rest of his profile features copy and paste ads. The first being spam usually left on video comment sections:

And another ad used on various YouTube profiles:

This now seems unfitting for Avery now due to the fact that he listens to some rap music. He soon after realized that and posted this right under the above:

And lastly, an ad which he took from Senbon Master 103's profile, a friend of Dot Channel's:

"About Me" section

Before Avery installed the Beta channel the "About Me" section said nothing. However when it was installed to his page, he simply wrote "It's random sketch" in the section.

Fields

Less jokes are used in Talking Asparegus' profile fields. In the first feild, it strates his influence is "The night your mom died" and in the second field, it says his work is similar to "The night your friend's mom died". However, the later fields are much more serious than the last: It stated his hometown is New York, his country is the United States, and his occupation is being a musician. The "Companies" field used to say "Tuba Inc." (a computer-based company), however over the Beta page format change, he reworte it to make it say "I Work!!?!?!?!?!?". In the "Schools" field it says "CalArts....I guess", the college of which he goes for violin lessons. In turn to the "Occupation" field, the "Hobbies" field it says "Music". The feilds also say that his favorite movies are "Iron Man, Terminator Salvation." And in the "Music" field it states his favorite artists are "Beck, Gorillaz, Nickelback, Oingo Boingo, Queen, Jean-Luc Ponty, Dave Matthews, Talking Heads, Airbourne Toxic Event, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Allman Brothers, Mark O'Connor, Guns N' Roses, And did I mention Beck?" and in "Books"; "Ender's Game, MAD Magazine, and some others...".

Only four people have commented on his page; Dot Channel, MurakamiL33t, Hoccile, and himself. The first comment put onto his page was a welcome comment by Dot Channel when he first came onto YouTube, but was however removed due to unknown reasons. Now, the first comment appears to be by himself. The most comments on his page were made by MurakamiL33t, who has posted even more comments on his own page. He soon after deleted all of the comments to be replaced by one.
