Johnathan Rozanski (born: July 21, 1992 (1992-07-21) [age 31]), better known online as TheMysteriousMrEnter, John Enter, Mr. Enter, and formerly Brovania, is an American YouTuber and reviewer from Massachusetts, best known for his "Animated Atrocities" and "Admirable Animation" series. He criticizes TV episodes he finds distasteful or unpleasant and praises TV episodes he enjoyed. Along with his reviewing channel, Mr. Enter also creates gaming videos.

Personal life[]

Mr. Enter was born and raised in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He has a younger brother and two younger sisters. He is diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a developmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. He is also diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a disorder marked by depressive moods occurring when there is less sunlight at certain times of the year. During his school years, he was subjected to bullying and was often a loner, due to his social awkwardness. He had an estranged father and, in addition, Mr. Enter was verbally abused by his mother and his step-father when he was growing up. Out of both parents, he only kept contact with his mother - refusing to let his biological father or stepfather around in his life. His mother passed away on October 25, 2021 from a prescription overdose at the age of 45. His great-grandmother also died about three days later. Mr. Enter considers himself asexual and aromantic, which allows him a unique perspective on issues of romance and sex. This is evidently seen in videos such as his "Homer Badman" and "Peter-Assment" reviews where he possesses strong opinions on the subject. In December 2021, he contracted COVID-19, though his case was mild.

Religiously, Mr. Enter is an agnostic atheist. In both his videos and DeviantArt journals, he states that his "lack of belief in the afterlife greatly informs a crippling fear he has of death and oblivion," which he has tried to cope with as a strong motivator for him in his creative and professional life.

Politically, Mr. Enter identifies as a centrist libertarian and subscribes to horseshoe theory. In several videos, he displays equal frustration towards both the left and the right and is known to write long journal entries on DeviantArt to that effect.

Videos[]

Mr. Enter often reviews episodes of animated TV shows, but also reviews internet sketches and animated movies. He used to be a "brony" reviewer, and an active member of the "Brony Analyst Community" on YouTube. During that time, he made reviews on every episode from the first four seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. In a DeviantArt journal in 2015 titled "Willpower and Life", Mr. Enter announced an end to his brony review videos due to losing interest in writing them.

For his Admirable Animations, he reviews episodes from TV shows such as Courage the Cowardly Dog, Gravity Falls, Teen Titans, Samurai Jack, and Powerpuff Girls. Mr.Enter prefers shows originating from the late 90's era, late 2000's era, and 2010's era, reportedly preferring children's animation due to a "personal distaste for gratuitous sex, violence, and toilet humor which has become prevalent in modern so-called 'adult' animation." Nonetheless, he holds high regard for adult animated works that do not heavily rely on these things, most notably Bojack Horseman, which has since become his personal favorite animated show of all time.

For Animated Atrocities, his list consists mainly of SpongeBob (though he did review episodes from the show for Admirable Animations) and Family Guy, but he's also included films such as Chicken Little, Tentacolino, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (regrettably, because he loves the show and Lauren Faust), Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Cars 2, and Teen Titans Go!. He also includes dropped pilots, including The Groovenains or Bubsy as Animated Atrocities.

Mr. Enter has also created videos outlining the "Top 10 worst episodes" of a show. His lists include but are not limited to: "Top 10 Worst Patrick's a Prick Episodes", "Top 10 Worst Squidward Torture Porns", and "Top 11 Worst Episodes Reviewed". In addition, he has a "Top 5 most hated cartoon episode list ever." This includes the SpongeBob's "One Coarse Meal" and Family Guy's "Seahorse Seashell Party". At the top of the list is "1 Night in Gottlieb" from Allen Gregory, an animated show that he used to consider the worst to have been ever made until he reviewed Breadwinners, Mr. Pickles, and Adult Party Cartoon.

On April 5, 2017, he returned to his gaming videos as Challenge Accepted.

He uploaded his first vlog shortly after his "Truth or Square" episode on August 10, 2014. He addressed many points about his personal life and the future of the channel. It can be found here.

Controversies[]

General[]

Since at least 2015, Enter has commonly been referred to as "one of the animation fanbase's most infamous and reviled members". He has been criticized by numerous YouTubers, including Clay Claymore, MarsReviews, DaftPina, RebelTaxi, JoeDini, EZ PZ, JUST A ROBOT, Turkey Tom, Just Stop, and I Hate Everything, due to his view of animation, video editing style, and how he handled the IndieGoGo campaign for his original series Growing Around. According to RebelTaxi during his 68th Pizza Party Podcast, he considers him a nitpicker, while I Hate Everything states that he's "fucking bullshit". Turkey Tom had also jokingly accused Enter of being a pedophile.

In 2018, Enter addressed these YouTubers in a video titled "Talking about my Online Harassment". In this video, he talks about many of the YouTubers listed above, in addition to cyberstalkers, doxxers, impersonators and other harassers on social media platforms like Twitter and DeviantArt. He called Clay Claymore's criticisms "funny in an adorable way", and claimed Turkey Tom to be "a child. Mentally or physically? I don't know." He also stated the allegations were going to "bite him in the ass as an adult". (Tom was 16 at the time of release). This video was well-received and earned Enter the forgiveness of several people. Youtubers Quinton Reviews, Pie Pivot-o, Kyotosomo, C.R. Martin, Piemations, and former editor Crimson Mayhem sided with Enter in the comments. RebelTaxi, ArtistIzzy and PIEGUYRULZ apologized for any past comments, with the latter stating he never reached out to Enter again because of fan responses. Turkey Tom also apologized and took down his video shortly afterwards.

Casey Alexander Harassment Campaign[]

On March 14, 2014, Mr. Enter uploaded his 41st Animated Atrocities review. In it, he reviews the SpongeBob episode "Pet Sitter Pat", an episode written by Casey Alexander. In the video, he shows screenshots of tweets made by Casey on Twitter. In them, he states that he was actually fond of "A Pal For Gary". In response to this, Mr. Enter called him an "idiot" and "a fucking moron". Because of this review, a harassment campaign was directed towards Casey Alexander on Twitter by some of Mr. Enter's fans, much to the concern of others. In response to the incident, Mr. Enter apologized and acknowledged his outrage, and he "plans to rectify it as much as possible."

Plagiarism Allegations[]

On February 18, 2017, a YouTuber named Dicaprio Delorean claimed Mr. Enter's reviews were unoriginal, and closely resembled other reviewers such as RebelTaxi, Nostalgia Critic, and Jeremy Jahns (even though Mr. Enter cited at least Nostalgia Critic to be an inspiration). According to Dicaprio, Enter mostly "just repeated" RebelTaxi's review of Rapsittie Street Kids, Jeremy Jahns's review of Cars 2, and TheHeroOfTomorrow's review of The Night B4 Christmas. Upon further inspection in regards to the name of his series, some have claimed that Enter stole the term "Animated Atrocities" from BigManX.

In the video, "Talking about my Online Harassment", Mr. Enter responded to these claims by stating his detractors were hypocrites, who also stole much of their talking points from other people who made videos on him. He also claimed a double standard for saying he ripped-off Rebeltaxi, as Penguinz0 also released a Rapsittie Street Kids video before him.

Nick-o-Rama reviews[]

Between December 2019 and February 2020, Mr. Enter released a series of videos called Nick-o-Rama, where he attempted to review every official NickToon that came out up to that point. The series would see mixed to negative reception, with many viewers criticizing Enter for not watching enough episodes of each show in order to give them a fair analysis and review. In particular, his Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode was panned by fans of the series, due to Enter disliking the show's animation style and characters, and said he was comparing the series too much with previous incarnations of the franchise. He would later show regret for creating Nick-o-Rama, promising to never do something like it again. Despite this, Enter came back to Nick-o-Rama for a second season in October 2021, in which he plans on giving the shows he didn't look far enough into a fairer review.

COVID-19 videos[]

Throughout 2020, Mr. Enter uploaded several videos of himself discussing his opinions on the COVID-19 pandemic, which all received very negative reviews for how he didn't seem to take the pandemic seriously. There were some who speculated that Enter was trying to appeal to his political viewers, which Enter was quick to deny. Enter later wrote a DeviantArt post which received even more criticism and raised more suspicions. This, in combination with previous controversies, resulted in many unsubscribing from his channel, which Enter still faces to this day. Around this time, members of the animation community also began to disassociate themselves from Enter as a result of his growing negative reputation. Crimson Mayhem, a former editor of Enter's videos, cut his contact with Enter because of his beliefs. PhantomStrider removed most mentions of Enter from his videos for this reason. His collaboration video with Enter (Top 10 Best SpongeBob Episodes) was updated to have Enter taken out of the thumbnail and his channel no longer linked in the description, though the video itself remains the same.

These videos have been made private as of recently. Enter explains the reason for this in Top 10 Worst Mr. Enter Videos, saying that those videos were adding anger in a time when there was too much of it.

Turning Red Controversy[]

On April 14, 2022, Enter uploaded Turning Red is a Mixed Bag. In the video, he reviews the movie Turning Red and criticizes various aspects of it. For one of his points, he argues Turning Red should not have a cheerful and upbeat feel to it, since the movie takes place roughly a year after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Within 24 hours of the video's release, it received near-universal backlash on social media, primarily from animation fans, claiming that it would be irrelevant and unnecessary in the context of the film's plotline. The video quickly went viral and would result in Enter trending on Twitter for two days, and reported on various news outlets on the internet. In response to the video's overwhelmingly negative reception, Enter had to disable comments. In addition, it got over 20,000 dislikes within two months. The video spawned various memes combining elements of Turning Red with those of 9/11 intended to mock Enter. He was also criticized for stating in a later video how animated media from previous decades featured "more diversity" compared to modern day animation, using the cartoons Hey Arnold! and Braceface as examples. Enter would respond to the controversy through Twitter by making a thread complaining about how overblown the video's reputation was and scolding those who participated in attacking him. Around this time, Enter set up a live stream to mock the people who took part in the debacle, and posted multiple similar Tweets, one of which was targeted at Crimson Mayhem, who joined in ridiculing Enter for the video. Enter was further criticized for his handling of the situation, which even included getting insulted by his own dad as he brought up when talking about this controversy in Top 10 Worst Mr. Enter Videos.

During his Unpopular Opinions series, Enter would apologize for the 9/11 point he made in the video. A year later, Enter addressed how the Turning Red incident, among various other controversies and personal issues, negatively affected his mental health life in the video Hi, It's Me. This earned the support of his former associate Crimson Mayhem, who later made a Twitter post expressing sympathy for Enter.
