―The Canipa Effect

Callum May (born: November 26, 1995 (1995-11-26) [age 28]), better known online as The Canipa Effect, is an Australian YouTuber who does anime reviews, animation spotlights, his own version of "Did You Know Anime" called "Did You Know Animo" and many other anime related video types. He was a member of the podcast Anime Galaxy until it went defunct. After that, he became one of the three creators of the podcast Anifix, along with his friends GLENLOVESANIME, AnimeRuss, and RCAnime. Callum currently works as a journalist for Crunchyroll and Anime News Network.

Most know him for his obsession of penguins in anime and his animator spotlight videos. He currently lives in Tokyo with his wife.

He breaks down anime production and what it means to be an animator. He is known for his analysis video on how animation tells a story, as well as frequently asked questions such as how original anime are made,[1] and breaks down the issues of anime known for their horrid animation, such as Ex-arm.[2] Despite the fact that his content is centered around anime, he has also focused on non-Japanese animation studios like South Korean animation studio Studio Mir, known for its work on Legend of Korra.[3]
