This page serves as documentation for the three main infobox templates: YouTuber, YouTuber1, and YouTuber2, which differ in their usage of the username parameter.

  • If you want to input the user ID of the channel (www.youtube.com/user/Fred), use {{YouTuber}}.
  • If you want to input the channel ID of the channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UCX6OQ3DkcsbYNE6H8uQQuVA), use {{YouTuber1}}.
  • If you want to input the handle of the channel (www.youtube.com/@MrBeast), use {{YouTuber2}}.

Practices

  • Since /user/ and /channel/ URLs are no longer the main unique identities of channels, it is recommended you use YouTuber2, to save yourself the trouble of retrieving the channel/user ID.[Discord]
  • It is recommended you edit using source editor while inserting an infobox, for ease of use.
    • To insert one, choose a preload template from the bottom of your editing window.
  • Do not remove any parameter; if not in use, keep it blank.

Parameters

title

Optional parameter. The title shown at the top of the infobox. If the title you desire here is the same as the name of the page, you may leave it blank.

username

The user ID, channel ID or handle respective to the template you are using.

channel

Optional parameter. This field is to be used in case of channel name conflicts, since two pages with a similar name cannot exist together. Placing the YouTuber's handle in brackets, this field is to correct the "Profile" label to show the original channel name. Thus, the exact name of the channel is required in this field.

Additionally, it can also be used on infoboxes used for YouTubers' secondary channels.

image

Name of an already existing image file on the wiki. If you want to add more than one image, e.g., for Appearance, use the following format:

<gallery>
Example 1.jpg|Tab 1
Example 2.jpg|Tab 2
</gallery>

The YouTube icon must be (at least) a 900×900 pixel image of the YouTube channel in the JPEG or PNG format. Appearance can be any image where the YouTuber's appearance(s) is/are visible.

To upload a channel icon to the wiki, follow the steps:

  1. Go to the channel page on YouTube, right-click → Open image in new tab.
  2. In the URL bar of the new tab, find a string "=s176-" or similar, near the end of the URL.
  3. Change "176" to "900", and then hit Enter. A larger 900×900 pixel image will be loaded.
  4. Save the image to your device and go to Special:Upload on Wikitubia.
  5. Choose the image, pick an appropriate name (channels4_profile.jpg is disallowed), and an appropriate license.
  6. Upload. It can now be used on pages.
